PM Modi Flags Off India’s First Hydrogen-Powered Train

Jind, Haryana: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday flagged off India’s first hydrogen-powered train, which will operate on the 89-km Jind–Sonipat route under Northern Railway. Developed as a pilot project, the eco-friendly train uses hydrogen fuel cell technology to generate electricity, marking a major step towards clean rail transport. With the launch, India joins a select group of countries, including Germany, Japan, China and the United States, using hydrogen-powered rail technology.
