Assam Expands Sports Infrastructure to Boost Athlete Development

Guwahati, Assam: The Assam Government is expanding the state’s sports ecosystem through new infrastructure projects, high-performance training centres, and grassroots initiatives to nurture young talent and strengthen its presence in national and international sports.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the initiatives include High Performance Sports Training and Rehabilitation Centres, sports equipment for youth clubs, redevelopment of key stadiums, expansion of Khanikar Stadium in Dibrugarh, and the establishment of an Archery Academy in Sonari to support athlete development across the state.
