Army Rescues 200+ in Assam Floods as Death Toll Reaches 10

Guwahati, July 21: The Indian Army has rescued over 200 stranded people under Operation Jal Rahat as severe floods continue to batter Assam. According to ASDMA, the flood death toll has risen to 10, while more than 3.65 lakh people across 16 districts have been affected.

The worst-hit districts include Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat and Golaghat. Army, NDRF and SDRF teams are carrying out rescue and relief operations, while several major rivers remain above the danger level. Flooding has also disrupted railway services in Upper Assam, forcing train cancellations and route diversions.
