CM Launches Nijut Monia, Nijut Babu Scheme Applications; Announces Flood Relief for Schools and Students

Guwahati, August 7: Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the distribution of application forms for the Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Monia Scheme and Mukhya Mantrir Nijut Babu Scheme at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. He also announced that the Nijut Babu Scheme will cover 1.2 lakh beneficiaries this year and extended the Nijut Monia Scheme to eligible girl polytechnic and integrated postgraduate students.
At the same programme, the Chief Minister released ₹15.86 crore to 793 flood-affected schools across four districts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and sanctioned over ₹4.26 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for 21,025 students in Sivasagar and Charaideo to purchase educational materials. He also assured additional financial assistance for schools that suffered permanent flood damage after detailed assessments.
