Assam Tightens Monitoring of PM POSHAN Scheme, Mandates Regular Record Verification

Guwahati, August 7: The Assam Government has issued fresh guidelines to strengthen monitoring of the PM POSHAN scheme, directing all schools to regularly maintain key registers, including accounts, daily performance, food stock and food tasting records.

The government has also instructed Block Nodal Officers to verify compliance every month, while district authorities must conduct random inspections of at least 2% of PM POSHAN schools and submit compliance reports to the State Nodal Office. The move aims to improve transparency, accountability and effective implementation of the scheme across Assam.
