NFR Speeds Up New Harangajao Restoration, Line 2 Targeted for September 5

New Harangajao: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has accelerated restoration work at New Harangajao Station, with Line No. 2 targeted for reopening by September 5 and Line No. 1 expected to be restored by the end of September. Around 500 personnel, supported by heavy and specialised machinery, are working at the site to stabilise the affected railway formation.

Train services are currently operating through Line No. 3 under enhanced safety measures after ground settlement and lateral shifting affected the yard from July 20. NFR said drainage management, dewatering and stabilisation work is underway to address water accumulation beneath the ground. The restoration is expected to ease restrictions and improve train movement along the Lumding-Badarpur hill section.
