App-Based Cab, Bike Taxi Strike Continues in Guwahati

Guwahati: Drivers of app-based cab and bike taxi services, including Ola, Uber and Rapido, continued their strike for the second consecutive day in Kamrup Metropolitan district, causing difficulties for daily commuters. Office-goers, students and regular users of these services have been affected by the disruption.
The drivers are protesting rising fuel costs and declining earnings, seeking measures to improve their working conditions. With the strike continuing, commuters are relying more on public buses and conventional auto-rickshaws, leading to overcrowding and, according to some passengers, higher fares.
