Jadumoni Dutta Receives Rajat Kamal for Best Assamese Film

Gujarat: Filmmaker Jadumoni Dutta was honoured with the Rajat Kamal for Best Assamese Film for Juiphool at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. The award marks Dutta’s second national recognition in the category, following his earlier win for Jetuka Pator Dore in 2011.

Dutta said the latest honour has increased his responsibility to deliver stronger work in the future. Juiphool, released in 2024, is set against the Assam-Nagaland border and explores the relationship between two women from communities affected by conflict. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated Dutta and producers Rita Dutta and Nandini Sharma on the national recognition.
