Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Backs Film on Tibetan Resistance Fighters

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has extended his support to the upcoming historical drama ‘Four Rivers Six Ranges’, which portrays the role of Tibetan resistance fighters in helping the 14th Dalai Lama reach India safely in 1959. Khandu said the film would help bring the story of the Chushi Gangdruk movement and its sacrifices to a wider audience.

Directed by Shenpenn Khymsar and produced by Dorjee Wangdi Dewatshang, the film is based on Flight at the Cuckoo’s Behest. After its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2025, the 132-minute film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release in India on September 11.
