Assam Wildlife Parks Reopen for New Tourism Season

Assam’s major wildlife destinations are reopening for the new tourism season, with Manas National Park opening on October 2, Kaziranga National Park on October 3, and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary scheduled to reopen on October 13. Environment and Forest Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah announced the schedule, welcoming tourists back after the annual monsoon closure.

The reopening follows a strong 2025–26 tourism season, with Kaziranga recording 4,68,147 visitors, Manas attracting 63,723, and Pobitora welcoming 35,371 tourists. The fresh season is expected to boost wildlife tourism and attract visitors from across India and abroad.
