ABSU Demands Bodo Language Inclusion in BTC Electoral Roll and Official Use

Ahead of the September 2025 Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) has demanded that the electoral roll be published in Bodo alongside Assamese. In a press release, ABSU also urged the government to implement Bodo for official use in all Bodo-majority areas, as per the Assam Official Language (Amendment) Act, 2020. Additionally, the Union called for the inclusion of a Bodo language paper in judicial and administrative exams. Meanwhile, political parties in Assam are preparing for the polls, with BJP contesting solo and others exploring alliances.
