ABSU Protests for Educational Reforms in Bodo Areas

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) staged a three-hour protest in Kajalgaon, demanding educational reforms. Key issues include establishing 35 new Bodo-medium high schools, upgrading 101 high schools to higher secondary, and recruiting teachers.

ABSU also seeks Bodo language inclusion in CTET and Assam Judicial Service exams, appointment of academic officers, and introduction of Bodo books in Anganwadi centers. General Secretary Khanindra Basumatary criticized the government’s inaction despite prior assurances and warned of intensified protests if demands remain unmet.
