Tragedy Strikes as Guwahati Resident Found Dead in Shillong Hotel Room

In a sorrowful incident, 47-year-old Sijo Joseph from Guwahati’s Beltola was discovered dead in a hotel room in Shillong, Meghalaya. The incident took place at Hotel Assembly in the Police Bazaar area, where Joseph’s lifeless body was found after he hadn’t emerged from his room for over a day. Authorities, alerted by the hotel, called the police, who, upon breaking open the door, found no signs of foul play. The preliminary assessment suggests that Joseph succumbed to an overdose of sedatives and antidepressants. A postmortem has been scheduled, and further investigations are underway to understand the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
