AIUDF Leader Badruddin Ajmal Vows Comeback After Significant Defeat in Dhubri

AIUDF leader Badruddin Ajmal accepted a significant defeat in losing his stronghold of Dhubri by over 1 million votes. In a late-night press conference, Ajmal assured supporters of the party’s determination to stage a comeback in the 2026 Assam Assembly elections despite setbacks in the three Lok Sabha seats contested.

He emphasized the need to analyze the election outcome thoroughly, particularly in Dhubri, Nagaon, and Karimganj constituencies. Ajmal attributed the defeat to what he termed a “tsunami” against PM Narendra Modi’s government, citing various issues.

Despite poor performances in Nagaon and Karimganj, Ajmal expressed confidence in the party’s ability to bounce back, citing global political comebacks. He affirmed the party’s commitment to rectify shortcomings and expressed confidence in winning the 2026 Assembly elections.
