AJP Announces ‘Zubeen Garg Smriti Saptah’ Across Assam

Guwahati: The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) has announced a week-long statewide programme, ‘Zubeen’s Assam… From Melody to Resolve’, from September 13 to 19 to remember the life, values and legacy of singer Zubeen Garg. Each day will focus on a different theme, including humanity, books, people, new beginnings and national resolve.

AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi said the initiative aims to take Zubeen Garg’s ideals and social commitment to the younger generation. On September 19, observed as Zubeen Day, 101 AJP volunteers will visit Zubeen Khetra to pay tribute. The party also renewed its demand for justice for the singer and urged the government to speed up construction of Zubeen Khetra.
