AJP Files Complaints Against Syeda Hameed in Assam
The Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) lodged complaints in 16 districts demanding activist Syeda Hameed’s arrest over alleged “anti-Assam and communal” remarks. AJP accused her of insulting Assamese people and provoking division, urging cases under multiple BNS sections. Hameed had said, “What is the problem if Bangladeshis live in Assam?” and later called Assam “dangerous.” CM Himanta Biswa Sarma ruled out filing an FIR, suggesting organisations take the lead.
