AMSKS Raises Concerns Over Finance Department’s Audit Directive
The Assam Madhyamik Sikshak aru Karmachari Santha (AMSKS) has written to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, claiming that a recent letter from the State Finance Department to the Directorate of Audit violates a Cabinet decision and Governor’s notification under the Kritagyata Scheme. The Finance Department’s directive requires the audit of school principals to be completed 30 days before retirement, and headmasters’ audits 15 days before retirement, which the Santha argues contradicts the government’s policy on settling dues on the retirement day. AMSKS also pointed out that heads of institutions have limited financial control, with most funds managed by vendors and other authorities, unlike other department heads whose pensions are processed through traditional audits.
