APCC Extends Deadline for Assembly Ticket Applications to January 28

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has extended the last date for submission of Assembly election ticket applications to January 28 following an overwhelming response from aspirants. The decision was taken on the direction of APCC president Gaurav Gogoi.

Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati witnessed heavy crowds over the past two days, with around 300 applications submitted in a single day and over 600 aspirants applying so far. Several sitting MLAs, former ministers, senior leaders and youth leaders have filed their applications.

Party sources said the rush is expected to continue in the coming days ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections.
