ARPA Seeks Centre’s Nod for Two Pending Assam Rail Projects

The Assam Rail Passengers Association (ARPA) has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to expedite approval of two long-pending railway projects in Upper Assam.
The proposed Sivasagar–Jorhat (62 km) and Salona–Khumtai (99 km) broad-gauge lines are expected to provide an alternative, flood-resilient route and improve connectivity with Guwahati. ARPA has sought early Cabinet approval and funding for the projects.
