Arunachal Pradesh to Install AI-Enabled Cameras for Public Safety
The Arunachal Pradesh government will install AI-enabled cameras across towns and cities to enhance security, announced Home Minister Mama Natung. AI-based CCTV cameras are already operational at 22 interstate checkgates. The state budget includes police infrastructure upgrades, new fire stations by 2029, and a modern forensic center. To combat drug addiction, five de-addiction centers and a rehabilitation center are planned. The Cabinet has approved 3,000 new police posts, and a proposal has been sent to the Union Home Minister to strengthen law enforcement in insurgency-affected areas.
