Assam Approves Master Plans for 11 Towns with Focus on Sustainable Urban Development
The Assam Town and Country Planning Advisory Committee, chaired by Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Ashok Singhal, approved master plans for 11 towns, including Doboka, Lanka, and Karimganj. The plans emphasize open spaces, parks, and no-construction zones. A district-level committee, led by the District Commissioner, will oversee the implementation, ensuring water flow remains uninterrupted during infrastructure development. Workshops and seminars will be organized to ensure compliance with these plans. The meeting also stressed the importance of geo-tagging water bodies and proper waste disposal.
