Assam Athletes Shine at National Arm Wrestling Championship
Diman Nath and Kaustav Hazarika from Assam excelled at the 4th National Arm Wrestling Championship 2024, held at Duliajan Club from June 6 to 8. Representing the Board of Control for Arm Wrestling in India (BCAI), the athletes from Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district earned top honors.
Diman Nath won a gold and a silver medal in the 78 kg category, securing a spot in the upcoming Asian Championship. Kaustav Hazarika also performed impressively, winning a silver medal and qualifying for the Asian Championship.
Several organizations in Dhekiajuli celebrated their achievements, recognizing their contributions to the state’s sporting prestige. The championship was organized by the All Assam Arm Wrestling Sports Association with support from the Duliajan Arm Wrestling Association.
