Assam Budget 2026: Government Aims for Near 100% Fund Utilisation

Guwahati: Ahead of the Assam Budget 2026, Finance Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah said the state government is targeting nearly 100% utilisation of budgetary allocations to maximise development. He stated that around 90% of the current financial year’s funds have already been utilised and assured that the upcoming Budget, to be presented on July 10 during the Assembly session beginning July 6, will prioritise infrastructure, employment, agriculture, education, healthcare and social welfare. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also reviewed 13 key departments to finalise the state’s development priorities before the Budget.
