Assam Cabinet Approves Key Reforms in Education, Industry & Transport

The Assam Cabinet has approved major decisions to regulate coaching institutes, develop industrial parks, and improve driver training facilities.

The Assam Coaching Institutes (Control & Regulation) Act, 2025 aims to ensure fair practices in education. Mega Industrial Parks will be set up in Kamrup and Morigaon, along with a Smart Township in Hajo.

Five Accredited Driver Training Centres with automated testing tracks will streamline licensing. The Cabinet also pushed for Majuli and Sivasagar’s UNESCO World Heritage status and allocated ₹21.52 crore for MSME growth under the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund.
