Assam CM Inaugurates PET-CT Facility at Cachar Cancer Hospital in Barak Valley

During his three-day visit to Barak Valley, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the region’s first Positron Emission Tomography (PET-CT) Nuclear Medicine Facility at Cachar Cancer Hospital. He also launched the LINAC machine for advanced cancer treatment. The PET-CT facility, funded by the Airport Authority of India, and the building, constructed by TATA Trust, aim to improve cancer detection and treatment in the region. Dr. R Ravi Kannan, the hospital’s director, highlighted the hospital’s growing needs, which the Chief Minister pledged to address.
