Assam doctor claims threats from family for converting to Hinduism; family alleges kidnapping

In Assam, a doctor claims that she was forced into hiding after being threatened by her family because she converted to Hinduism. Her brother claims that she was abducted.

A video by the doctor has surfaced in which she claimed to be safe and was voluntarily staying away for her safety even as her family asked the police for assistance in finding her.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister, was informed of the situation on Sunday and ordered the DGP to look into it.
