Assam Flood Situation Improves, Death Toll Climbs to 66

Assam: The flood situation in Assam improved on Sunday as water levels receded across most parts of Upper Assam. However, the death toll rose to 66, with more than 6.54 lakh people still affected across six districts, while four people remain missing.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said rescue operations have largely been completed and relief is reaching even remote areas, though waterlogging and power disruptions continue in parts of Sivasagar. According to the ASDMA, 274 relief camps are operational, while hundreds of villages and over 34,970 hectares of cropland remain affected.
