PM Modi Reviews Assam Flood Situation, Centre Steps Up Support

Assam: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reviewed the flood situation in Assam for the second consecutive day, speaking with Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and reaffirming the Centre’s full support for relief, rehabilitation and rebuilding. A six-member Inter-Ministerial Central Team is currently touring the worst-affected districts to assess the extent of the damage.
Meanwhile, relief operations by the Indian Air Force and district administrations are continuing across flood-hit areas, with targeted airdropping of essential supplies as floodwaters recede. The flood death toll in Assam has risen to 66, while restoration and relief efforts remain in full swing.
