Assam Floods Worsen: Over 2.4 Million Affected, 52 Dead

The flood situation in Assam has deteriorated significantly, with over 2.4 million people now affected and the death toll holding at 52. According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), a total of 24,20,722 people across 30 districts are impacted by the annual deluge. The ASDMA’s latest report indicates that approximately 63,490.97 hectares of crop area have been destroyed. Additionally, the Brahmaputra River, its tributaries, and the Barak River continue to flow above the danger level.
