Assam Govt Engages Youth for Flood Monitoring, Boosts Healthcare and Jobs

Assam will deploy youth volunteers to monitor embankments and prevent flood breaches. Each volunteer will oversee 8–10 km, equipped with flood-fighting gear and rewarded with certificates. The government has also approved Rs 190 crore for free medicines in state hospitals and Rs 142 crore for a working women’s hostel in Jagiroad to support upcoming semiconductor jobs.
