Assam Govt Reviews Barak Valley Transport Woes After Landslides

A high-level meeting was held in Guwahati to address transport disruptions in Barak Valley due to landslides. Chaired by Minister Kaushik Rai, the meeting saw participation from N.F. Railway, NHAI, and NHIDCL officials. Key issues included restoration of the Lumding–Badarpur rail line, irregular Silchar-Guwahati trains, and poor road conditions in Dima Hasao. Immediate repairs were ordered for the Jatinga–Harangajao road and Gamon Bridge. Minister Rai stressed urgent action and strict coordination to fast-track projects.
