Assam, Mizoram Agree to Strengthen Tourism Cooperation

Mizoram Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar met Assam Tourism Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass in Guwahati on Sunday, with both sides agreeing to work jointly to promote tourism and to sign a formal cooperation agreement soon. Hmar noted that most tourists visiting Mizoram come from Assam and stressed the need for closer coordination. Dass welcomed the proposal, citing shared historical ties and improved rail connectivity that could boost tourist flow. Assam also agreed to showcase Mizoram’s tourism visuals at major events and explore institutional collaboration, including workshops for Mizoram tour operators.
