Assam Opposition Leader Calls for Tight Security for Scam Accused

Assam’s Leader of Opposition, Debabrata Saikia, has urged for enhanced security for individuals accused in unregulated trading investment scams. Speaking at Rajiv Bhawan, Saikia emphasized the need to protect those in custody, citing alarming instances where accused individuals have died under suspicious circumstances, despite police escort.

Saikia called on Assam’s DGP to ensure the safety of these individuals to uphold the rule of law. His plea follows recent concerns over custodial deaths and extra-judicial killings, highlighted by both the Supreme Court and ongoing judicial scrutiny.
