Assam Opposition Leader Urges Online Application for PMAY-G Houses
Leader of the Opposition in Assam, Debabrata Saikia, has urged the Union Government to enable online applications for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) houses in the state. In a letter to Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he thanked the government for additional housing allotments but highlighted the absence of an online application facility in Assam despite the Chief Minister’s announcement. Saikia emphasized that relying solely on Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM) volunteers for data collection may exclude deserving beneficiaries. He requested the immediate launch of an online application system to ensure fair access to PMAY-G housing.
