Assam Plans Centre of Excellence with World Economic Forum

Assam is set to strengthen its global economic engagement by establishing a Centre of Excellence in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said after discussions at the WEF Annual Meeting in Davos. The centre will focus on themes of national and state relevance, aligning Assam’s development goals with global best practices.
The Chief Minister said the partnership will enhance Assam’s visibility among global investors and policymakers. He highlighted the state’s inclusive investment approach and growing potential in sectors such as hydrocarbons, renewable energy, tourism and agri-based industries, adding that the initiative aims to attract quality investments and support long-term economic growth.
