South Salmara-Mankachar Police arrested two men for running a ₹200-crore cryptocurrency-based MLM scam, defrauding thousands across Assam. The accused lured investors with false AI forex trading promises. Links to Dubai-based scamster Lavish Chaudhury were uncovered. Police seized multiple digital devices, bank documents, and evidence of foreign fund transfers. The scam, operating as a pyramid scheme, involved over 1 lakh investors. Authorities, with assistance from I4C, are investigating further, and more arrests are expected.
