Assam Police Lance Naik Arrested for Bribery in Hailakandi; Investigation Underway

In a recent development, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption arrested Lance Naik Gouidur Rahman Barbhuiya in Assam’s Hailakandi district on charges of bribery. Barbhuiya, stationed at Hailakandi Sadar police station, was caught red-handed while accepting Rs. 6,000 to manipulate a criminal case. Acting as a law clerk at the police station, he allegedly took the cash to provide favorable outcomes in the case. The accused has been transported to Guwahati for further interrogation, and the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department are actively pursuing the investigation.
