Assam Police Seize Drugs Worth ₹8 Crore, Two Arrested

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Assam Police seized contraband worth ₹8 crore in separate operations. In Biswanath district, officers intercepted a vehicle and found 314 kg of marijuana hidden under sacks of cabbage, valued at ₹1.57 crore. The vehicle owner, Bitul Senapati, was later arrested. In Cachar, police recovered 572 grams of heroin and 10,000 yaba tablets worth ₹7 crore in Silchar and Ramnagar. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the police for their continued efforts against drug trafficking.
