Assam Police Seize Heroin Worth ₹6 Crore in Cachar, Arrest Three Drug Peddlers

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday praised the Cachar Police for a major drug bust that led to the seizure of 1.2 kg of heroin worth ₹6 crore and the arrest of three peddlers.
Sharing the update on X, the Chief Minister wrote, “Hopes of getting high BUSTED! 🚨 @CacharPolice seized 1.2 kg of heroin worth ₹6 crore and arrested 3 drug peddlers. Kudos to @assampolice for giving drug traffickers the GPS rerouting of their lives, that ends at the police station 🚓.”
The seizure marks another significant success in Assam’s ongoing war against narcotics under the #AssamAgainstDrugs campaign. Over the past few years, the state police have intensified operations against drug trafficking networks, resulting in numerous arrests and large quantities of narcotics being confiscated across Assam.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to making Assam drug-free, vowing continued strict action against traffickers and their networks.
