Assam Police STF Seizes Heroin and Cash in Major Operation, Arrests Three Smugglers

In a significant operation, Assam Police’s Special Task Force (STF) conducted a major bust in Guwahati’s Lakhtokia area, resulting in the seizure of a substantial quantity of heroin and cash on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off, the STF raided SS Path in Lakhtokia, where they seized 42 containers of heroin weighing approximately 59 grams. The operation also led to the confiscation of Rs 260 in cash, a mobile phone, and two syringes. Three smugglers, identified as Ashkar Ali of Dhubri, Sanjay Dey of Kamrup (metro), and Bikash Chetri of Tinsukia, were apprehended during the raid. This operation follows the recent bust of two women peddlers by STF Assam in Guwahati’s Tokobari area. The STF continues its investigation into the matter.
