Assam Sanctions ₹3,875 Crore for Flood-Hit Roads in Dima Hasao
The Assam government has announced a ₹3,875 crore package to rebuild 348 km of flood-damaged roads in Dima Hasao. The Centre will cover 80% of the cost with World Bank aid. Work begins post-monsoon. The package also includes rebuilding 11 wooden bridges. CM Sarma called it the highest-ever allocation for the hill district. Additional cabinet decisions include ₹843 crore for BTC, approval for Swahid Kanaklata Barua University, SPs redesignated as SSPs, and ₹15 lakh grants to 300 FPOs/FPCs under a new scheme.
