Assam Sees 86.5% Drop in Crimes Against Women, Says CM

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said Assam has recorded an 86.5% decline in crimes against women since his government took office, stressing that women’s safety remains a top priority. He added that efforts will continue until such crimes are eliminated.

Sarma also highlighted the growing role of inland waterways, noting that nearly six lakh tonnes of cargo are being transported through rivers, boosting connectivity and economic growth in the state.
