Assam Sees Temperature Drop After Heavy Rain; Weather to Improve Soon

Continuous rainfall over the past two days has lowered temperatures in Assam by 4–5°C below normal. Heavy showers were recorded in places like Dhemaji (80mm) and Gossaigaon (60mm), driven by moisture from the Bay of Bengal due to a low-pressure system over Jharkhand and Bihar.
Guwahati recorded a maximum of 25.3°C, nearly 5°C below normal. IMD forecasts light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rainfall across Northeast states on November 1. Rain is expected to reduce from Monday, allowing temperatures to rise.
IMD’s November outlook suggests normal to above-normal rainfall countrywide, except parts of northwest and south India. Despite the current cool spell, Northeast temperatures are likely to remain above normal this month. Assam has received 114.7mm of rain since October 1, slightly below the normal 123mm.
