Assam’s Aaranyak to Launch ‘HaatiApp’ for Mitigating Human-Elephant Conflict

Aaranyak, a leading biodiversity conservation organization in Assam, will launch the ‘HaatiApp’ on August 10 in Guwahati. The app will serve as an early warning system to alert villagers about nearby wild elephants, helping to reduce human-elephant conflicts. Supported by the SBI Foundation, the app will also allow users to submit ex-gratia application forms for damages caused by elephants. Alongside the app, Aaranyak will release a handbook on solar-powered fences, providing detailed guidance on their use for conflict mitigation.
