Attempts to relocate Assamese living outside Bangladesh’s fence

At some stretches of the Indo-Bangladesh border, the State government is thinking about relocating Assamese residents who currently reside on Indian territory. Recently, a group of state representatives from the Border Protection and Development Department travelled to the Barak Valley and the Dhubri sectors of Indo-Bangladesh.

Sources claim that the team visited the border villages in accordance with State Government directives. They used the BSF’s assistance when they visited the Indian villages beyond the fence.
