Bank Employees Flee with Depositors’ Money in Jorhat, Assam

Tension has erupted among customers after employees and officers of Yess Money Digital (Nidhi Bank) in Jorhat district, Assam, fled with their deposits. The bank, which opened a branch in Pulibor, Jorhat on April 17, had taken deposits from various customers. The shock came when the bank’s employees and officers disappeared after collecting the deposits, leaving customers in distress. Many customers had deposited money with the hope of receiving a loan of Rs 1 lakh. Allegedly, top officials including CEO Banamali Hazarika, Navajyoti Payeng, Jagannath Pegu, Prasenjit Narah, and Goutam Kalita have gone underground. Customers are demanding a thorough investigation into the matter.
