Barpeta MP Abdul Khaleque Resigns from Congress, Cites Leadership Flaws

Abdul Khaleque, the sitting MP of Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency, resigned from the Congress party, citing flaws in the party leadership in Assam. In his resignation letter, Khaleque emphasized the sidelining of people-centric issues and criticized the state President and AICC General Secretary for their approach. Despite expressing gratitude to Sonia Gandhi for her leadership, Khaleque highlighted concerns regarding the party’s prospects in Assam. Khaleque, who served twice as a member of the Legislative Assembly and once as a Lok Sabha member, emphasized the importance of independence, self-respect, and unity in safeguarding democracy.
