Bridge Collapse in Bhaga Disrupts Assam-Mizoram Interstate Route

A concrete bridge over the Rukhni River in Bhaga collapsed on Friday, causing two trucks to plunge into the wreckage and leaving a driver missing. The bridge, a crucial link for construction materials, was over 30 years old. The collapse has severely impacted local commuters, forcing them to use country boats to cross the river. Silchar MP Parimal Suklabaidya and Cachar District officials are coordinating temporary ferry services and repair efforts. Security has been deployed, and a team of PWD officials from Guwahati is set to inspect the site.
