BTR Strengthens Land Policies, Focuses on Small Tea Growers

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Executive Member for Land Revenue, Ranjit Basumatary, reaffirmed the BTR government’s commitment to resolving land-related issues. At a meeting, Basumatary highlighted the draft Land Policy for tea growers, which includes allotment, settlement, and lease provisions.

He announced that BTR is the first Sixth Schedule Council in the Northeast to digitize land records, offering online services for citizens. Over 2 lakh land pattas have been issued, and 80,073 land-related issues have been resolved under Mission Bwiswmuthi 1.0.

The policy will also extend to rubber cultivation, with members of the Small Tea Growers’ Association expressing their support.
