Businessman Abducted in Karbi Anglong Found Murdered

The body of businessman Ratan Dutta, abducted from Karbi Anglong on December 19, was discovered in Dhansiri Sanctuary.

Karbi Anglong SP Sanjiv Kumar Saikia confirmed the victim was held for ransom before being murdered. Former DNLA member Sana Singh and others from AANLA have confessed to the crime, citing personal conflict as a motive.

Authorities apprehended six suspects, and investigations are ongoing to identify further accomplices. The delayed reporting by Dutta’s family is believed to have hindered timely rescue efforts.
